A BOUTIQUE HOTEL WITH ITS OWN IDENTITY IN PERE GARAU

Hotel Nou Baleares is a 4-star hotel that brings to life the emblematic building of the former CAN BOIRA FACTORY, dedicated to the hydraulic tile industry. Its important heritage value is reflected in each of its corners, which guide you towards the beginning of the twentieth century through its tiles and other original elements recovered during its reform.

Among them are the spectacular central staircase with wrought-iron railings, wooden beams, characteristic greenhouse balconies, marés walls or the hall that gives access to the patio.

The old wooden label that welcomed the clients of the business that came next, the original Hostal Baleares, has also been integrated into the decoration.

Today, all these reminiscences of the past come to a new life at the Hotel Nou Baleares.

The building is architecturally listed as a rationalist with a modernist touch, and was one of the first inn’s in Palma. After hosting large numbers of guests over several decades, it finally closed its doors and remained in a state of abandonment for more than 30 years. It was the silent witness of the changes that were going on around, the growth and rehabilitation of the city, coming and going from its neighbors…

Time passed inexorably through its empty rooms, until the Treguer Hotels group raised an ambitious recovery project, with the results we see today.

Some of the hotel’s furniture and décor preserves the colonial and artisanal air of its origins, and natural materials such as wood, wicker, ceramics or blown glass predominate. Everything is arranged to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere both in the common areas and in the rooms, which become a perfect setting where harmony, comfort and well-being are the absolute protagonists.
